Triumph in Whitby: Award-Winning Social Media Campaign


To portray a low-rise community in Whitby as hip and artsy, we held a music contest on the community’s Facebook page. Participants were required to enter a video of an original song for a chance to win $5,000. We called the Triumph Musician Search Contest and it went on to win the 2011 BILD Award for Best Social Media Campaign. I was in charge of of the contest as well as the community’s Facebook page, Twitter account, and corporate blog.


This was my first major social media campaign. I’m second from left to right.

Having recently opened to the public, Triumph was 75% sold out in the first weekend alone.
